Eaton’s Gift Retired to Swifty Farms

Multiple grade II winner Eaton’s Gift has been retired from racing and will stand for $3,000 at Swifty Farms in Indiana it was announced Dec. 17.

The 5-year-old son of Johannesburg—Kit’s Girl, by Carson City won the Swale (gr. II) as a 3-year-old. At 4 he won the Smile Sprint Handicap (gr. II) at Calder where he defeated two-time champion Benny the Bull. He was campaigned by Zayat Stables.
“Eaton’s Gift was one of the most athletic and fastest horses I ever trained,” said Dale Romans. “His race at Calder where he beat the freak Benny the Bull was one of my most exciting days as a trainer. It’s always sad when a good horse goes to stud, but I am excited to hear Mr. Zayat will support the horse at stud, and I look forward to training his babies.”
