Unbridled Victory, a gray or roan daughter of Unbridled Express, became her sire’s latest stakes winner with a determined front-running score in the $100,000 Indiana Stallion Fillies Stakes at Horseshoe Indianapolis on Oct. 30.
With Marcelino Pedroza Jr. in the irons, Unbridled Victory vied for the early lead in the six-furlong fixture with Compressed Energy giving chase. Unbridled Victory shook clear of his rival midway around the far turn and opened three lengths on the field in the stretch before powering down late to prevail by a length over Everything’s Rosy at the finish for trainer Bernard Flint. It was the second straight win for the Indiana-bred who broke her maiden in her previous start with a determined neck victory in a maiden special weight in her second career outing.
Owned and bred by Miles Childers, L.T.B. Inc. and Ed Wright Cattle Company, Unbridled Victory is produced from the Greatness mare Jenny Vignette. She is a winner in two of three career starts and has earned $86,316.
Unbridled Express, a perennial leading sire in Indiana, is also the sire of 2019 Indiana Horse of the Year Unbridled Class, and 2018 Indiana 2-Year-Old Colt of the Year Ace of Aces. A son of Unbridled’s Song, Unbridled Express is out of the Sky Classic mare Skye Castles and is from the immediate family of Breeders’ Cup Mile (G1) winner Tourist.
